Last month, CMSL was delighted to attend Prestley Wood Academy’s National Numeracy Day tea party.

The event celebrated National Numeracy Day and this year’s theme, “Count on your Community”.

Pupils, staff, local organisations and community supporters came together for an afternoon of conversation, learning and connection.

Most importantly, the event showcased the confidence, creativity and effort of the pupils who helped make it happen.

The story

From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming.

The pupils had worked hard to prepare for the event. They helped bake food for the tea party, decorated the room and created handmade thank you cards for visitors.

As a result, the room looked fantastic and reflected the pride they had taken in the day.

One of the highlights was watching the pupils interact with guests from across the local community.

Whether they were welcoming visitors, chatting with guests or helping to host the event, they approached every task with confidence and enthusiasm.

In addition, the event gave pupils an opportunity to engage with people from different organisations and backgrounds.

The afternoon perfectly reflected this year’s National Numeracy Day theme.

It showed how schools, businesses and community groups can work together to create positive experiences for young people.

CMSL has supported several initiatives connected to Prestley Wood Academy over the past year. Therefore, it was a pleasure to be invited to take part in another event organised by the school.

For our clients, this is another example of the social value activities we support alongside our day-to-day service delivery.
