Ethan Patrick – Engineering Apprentice
Ethan has become one of the most recognised apprentices within CMSL, and that has not happened by chance.
Through consistent hard work, professionalism, and a strong attitude on site, he has earned responsibilities that many apprentices would not yet be given. He represents the standard we expect.
Last year, Ethan was recognised for his calm and professional conduct during a serious incident while on site at Keech Hospice. More recently, he represented CMSL at apprenticeship careers talks, speaking in front of students about his journey and what engineering apprenticeships really involve. That is not a small responsibility. It reflects the trust placed in him by the business.
We support apprentices who show commitment. We recognise effort. And when someone proves themselves, we back them.
Olivia Hawkins – HR Apprentice (Level 3)
Olivia joined CMSL on 11 August 2025 as a Level 3 HR Apprentice, stepping directly from school into a full time role.
The transition was challenging at first. New environment, new expectations, real responsibility. But with support from her manager and the wider team, she has developed confidence, communication skills, and professionalism in a short space of time.
A milestone moment for Olivia was overcoming her fear of taking phone calls. With encouragement, she pushed through it and now handles conversations with confidence.
Alongside work, she also passed her Maths GCSE through consistent self revision while working full time, demonstrating resilience and determination.
At CMSL, apprentices are not expected to be perfect from day one. They are expected to grow. And we provide the support, structure, and mentorship to make that growth possible.
