Our History

Cambridge Maintenance Services was founded in 1985 by Colin Wills, the current majority shareholder of the company. Colin spent many years as an Officer in the Merchant Navy and after leaving the service decided to introduce into the building services industry some of the maintenance regimes used in the Navy. This led to the set-up of Cambridge Maintenance Services, with its initial clients based on the prestigious Cambridge Science Park.

The Science Park buildings presented many challenges, not only in the type of equipment installed, but also the type of tenants - often high technology driven and demanding a high level of professionalism from their maintenance provider.

The Science Park proved to be a demanding and effective training ground and instilled in the company its professionalism and high standard of service that it continues to deliver to this day.

Our Goals

It has always been the aim of Cambridge Maintenance Services to continually improve in all areas of its operation, and to create an efficient, organised and profitable building services engineering company.

We are a national company delivering a specialist building service to a wide client base. The company has one predominant shareholder and dividends are not the order of the day. Profits are reinvested in the company to develop systems that enhance our performance and cost-competitive edge. We will continue to work towards our goals, learn by our mistakes and, most importantly of all, improve on our performance.
